Self-compassion: the core of my brand

I believe that all of us are born with an innate kindness for everything around us - from the smallest bug or our stuffed teddy bear to ourselves. However, as we grow up, we tend to lose a part of it. We often resort to self-criticism and self-loathing, and we try to criticize ourselves into success.

I believe that we can only love ourselves into it. I believe that self-compassion is the solution to many of our problems. I think it is necessary to achieve great success and happiness. I believe that self-compassion is essential for regaining parts of that innate kindness and to feel that we are good enough.

I want my jewelry pieces to serve as reminders for you to take your own hand after falling down and offer yourself kind and supportive words of encouragement. I wish they inspire you to have more self-compassion.
  

Living authentically

I value authenticity highly, because I too spent a lot of time chasing perfection. I want my jewelry to remind you that perfection is unattainable, and that it's due to imperfections that you truly shine.

Trying to fit in and hiding ourselves from the world can also be very lonely. When we are being genuine, we're more open to create deeper connections with people around us, giving us that true sense of belonging. 

I would like to encourage you to be who you really are and to pour your energy into understanding yourself better. To show up rather than pretend to be someone else and to embrace our authentic selves.

Sustainability

Taking care of the planet we live in is something really dear to me. This is why most of my jewelry is made using recycled silver. I keep constantly working towards improving the sustainability of the raw materials I purchase and I promise to share these things openly with you.

About me

My name is Aistė and I am the creator behind Hipo Jewelry. I grew up in Vilnius, Lithuania. Creating art used to be a big part of my life growing up, but feeling the pressure to pick a "serious" career path made me abandon being creative.

I did my bachelor's degree in economics in France, I completed my master's in Italy and I moved to Belgium to pursue a PhD. Then I burned out. It was a wake up call to reconnect with my authentic self and to focus more on finding joy in what I choose to do. Now I make jewelry and am pursuing a master's degree in psychology. 

In my free time I like to swim, read, walk in nature and bond with any ducklings that I see.
