Foreboding joy

Foreboding joy

Dear reader,
I'm so happy to share with you my newest piece of jewelry inspired by the concept of foreboding joy.

In our life, we often experience moments of joy—whether it's achieving a long-awaited goal, celebrating a milestone, or simply having finally a really good day after some bad ones.

But after experiencing a strong sense of joy, have you ever found yourself thinking 'what's the catch?'?

In that case, you're definitely familiar with the concept of foreboding joy. And the second piece of my Vulnerability Shields collection is inspired exactly by this concept. It's the experience of holding back, of not fully allowing yourself to lean into that joy, out of fear that it might be taken away. Out of the fear that 'the other shoe might drop'.

I want this jewelry piece to be your physical reminder to feel grateful for the joy you're experiencing rather than fearful anticipating the end of it. Because gratefulness is the only antidote to it.

So the next time your inner voice tries to sabotage the joy you're feeling, I want you to touch this necklace and tell yourself at least one thing you're grateful for.

If you had an amazing evening with your mom and suddenly feel the fear of her not being here at some point anymore, I want you to tell yourself how grateful you are for the evening and the conversations you shared.

Whenever you're having a day full of joy after having struggled for weeks, I want you to express gratefulness for having gone through the tough times.

Whenever you experience these lingering moments of sabotaging your own joy, I hope you stop yourself for a second, touch this heart necklace hanging on your neck and repeat how grateful you are.

Warm regards,
Aistė
